WHY CHOOSE SEA EQUIPMENT:
The difference in quality is not always obvious from a glossy brochure. Ask your installation company to show you the products they will use or call our technical department who will be happy to discuss which operators best suit your installation, even comparing and contrasting SEA equipment with other manufacturers ranges.
SEA has become a leading player in the gate automation market by focusing upon quality. SEA manufacture all internal components from raw material, this means that our motors are stronger than our competitors. Our engineering tolerances are tighter with each component being made to a higher standard, SEA motors therefore generate increased power when compared to most systems of similar appearance. We have all bought light weight gadgets and realised that they are not strong enough for the job. With the SEA range you can be sure that your system will not be found wanting.
SEA equipment often has multiple safety devices exceeding UK and European safety standards. Automatic gates are not toys and you need to consider the safety implications of any system installed. If you want to upgrade your existing system or discuss your new system, please give us a call. All SEA equipment incorporates the latest technology and even SEA's smallest operators are designed to be operated up to 15 times per hour. Even if you are the only family using the gate you need to know it can cope with those busy times.
Minor technical details are very important to the overall reliability and safety provided by gate automation equipment, a few points which put SEA ahead of the competition are :-
Machined Gears: SEA only use machined gears; cast gears are often used in less reliable systems as they are cheaper to produce. Oil Filled Gearboxes: SEA only offer underground operators with oil filled gear boxes. You wouldn't drive a car with a grease filled gear box so why accept it in your gate automation, the grease will only lubricate the operator for the first six months soon spreading to the outside of the casing offering no long term lubrication. Your motors will get noisier and noisier, wearing the internal components and reducing the life expectancy of your system. Thermal Overloads: SEA protect their operators by installing thermal overloads within the motor windings, but, they design their systems so that even the busiest of homes will not cause the motors to overheat.
High Expectations: SEA started in automation by manufacturing hydraulic, heavy duty, industrial operators and design all of their ranges with the same attention to detail with high expectations on strength and reliability.
Don't waste your money on short term solutions.

Compare the Field Underground gate automation
The Field automatic gate system is stronger than most electromechanical systems being able to handle gates up to 7.0 metres and 1200 Kgs operating. The foundation box is thicker in construction than most meaning that it will last a lot longer in the ground before need for replacement.
The standard unit can be operated up to 20 times per hour, the 24 Volt system can be operated up to 40 times an hour. You will often see 24V dc systems quoted as intensive or continuous use, it is true that the motor will be continuously rated but the duty cycle should take into account the whole product not just the motor.
Built in physical stops and slowdown at the end of travel, with most manufacturers these are charged as extra over items. Machined gears not cast, oil not grease filled gear box and electronic slowdown at end of travel for smoothness of operation mean that the Field is a lot stronger smoother and more robust than other manufacturers equipment.
Compare the quality of your system before it is buried in the ground.

CONSIDER UPGRADING YOUR SYSTEM TO HYDRAULIC:
Hydraulic systems are stronger, faster, quieter and will last longer.
Hydraulic systems are stronger than electromechanical equipment, so they can handle much larger gates with ease or standard sized gates much faster. They are much quieter so can be installed in areas where noise levels are a factor. They are oil filled ensuring less wear and tear, with any large forces being safely distributed over the whole system not damaging individual components. They are designed to be repaired not replaced, lengthening the life of your gate installation.
When gate automation first became popular the majority of systems were hydraulic. Electromechanical systems were manufactured to reduce the cost of gate automation being easier to mass produce and requiring lower engineering standards. The majority of systems now sold in the UK and across the globe are electromechanical because of cost not because of quality. With improved manufacturing techniques and increased production quantities the cost of hydraulic automation equipment has hardly changed in the last 20 years. The main price increases have been seen in installation labour charges and the cost of the gates themselves. The difference in the overall cost of choosing hydraulic over electro-mechanical will be minor, but the improvement in quality and life expectancy of your system will be major. Get your installer to give you an extra-over price to install hydraulic you may be surprised at how little the difference is.
At SEAUK we offer, both Hydraulic and Electro-mechanical gate automation, car park barrier equipment, radio transmitters, radio receivers, photocells, induction loops, digital code pads, card readers, key switches, electric locks, Videx video or audio intercom systems and Daitem wireless intercoms. Designed to give years of trouble free service, SEA systems are in use world-wide giving faultless service day in day out, year after year. The full range of SEA gate automation equipment is distributed from either our North London or West Midlands premises, with display and training facilities available to all our customers.

BETA and ARM rear mounted gate automation
Even SEA's smallest operators have features that are normally associated with more expensive ranges, the Arm and Beta operators both have built in open and closed stops and use current sensing to provide high levels of safety. They have been designed to be highly cost effective, easy to install, reliable and capable of automating most domestic gates with ease.
Built in physical stops and slowdown at the end of travel make both these operators the perfect place to start.
